The UK is set to progress with utilizing the total value of seized Russia's holdings to aid Ukraine's defense operations, Leader Sir Keir Starmer has announced.

In a collective announcement, the officials of the Britain, the French Republic, and Germany asserted that this coordinated action would escalate tension on Russian President Vladimir Putin and persuade Russia to come to the table.

They added that the decision would be implemented in strong partnership with the America.

British penalties have frozen more than £25bn of Russia's funds since Moscow initiated its comprehensive attack against the Ukrainian nation in 2022. Yet, previously, money allocated to Ukraine using Russian assets had solely been sourced from profits and interest generated on them.

Sir Keir informed Ukraine's leader Volodymyr Zelensky that the United Kingdom, France, and the Federal Republic of Germany were united in their goal to advance efforts toward utilizing the total worth of the seized Russian sovereign holdings to end the war.

He added that further restrictions soon would heighten the tension on Russia.

This announcement comes after EU representatives gathered in Copenhagen recently to consider utilizing immobilized Russian funds for a €140bn financial aid to the Ukrainian nation.

Recently, US President Donald Trump urged Group of Seven partners to seize or otherwise use seized Russian assets, as reported by news outlets.

The worth of immobilized Russia's assets in the Europe is estimated to be approximately €211bn.

Russia launched widespread missile and drone strikes across Ukraine on Friday, causing electricity outages in significant regions of Kyiv, the city, and several other zones.

Several persons were killed and at least 20 people were injured in the strike, the Ukrainian government reported.

In a message on an online platform subsequent to the attack, Zelensky commented that the strategic strike focused on public and utility structures.

"What is required is not mere statements but decisive action - from the America, the European Union, and the G7 - in providing anti-aircraft weapons and implementing restrictions," he wrote.

"Every sanction decision diminishes Russia's war machine," Zelensky wrote, in a different message.

In the same period, Zelensky stated to the press he would encourage Sir Keir to enter the weapons procurement scheme, under which Nato countries purchase weapons from the US to give to Ukraine.

While commending the UK's firm backing for the Ukrainian government, he noted it should demonstrate clearly that it would engage in the program, as well as enforce more restrictions on Russia.
