Three Athletes Named as Finalists for Young Sports Star Honour

English soccer star Michelle Agyemang, darts prodigy Luke Littler and cricketer Davina Perrin have been named as finalists for the upcoming Young Sports Personality of the Year award.
These three athletes have been celebrated for their exceptional achievements over the previous year.
Agyemang was instrumental as the Lionesses claim victory in Euro 2025, Littler won the world title for the first time, and Perrin surged to prominence with a historic innings.
Littler claimed this honour in 2024 after his sensational debut year.
The finalists were unveiled on a widely-listened-to radio show.
The 2025 recipient will be revealed live on the Sports Personality of the Year show on Thursday, 18 December.
The ceremony will be aired from seven in the evening GMT.
Michelle Agyemang
Age: 19 Sport: Football
A mere three months after her international debut, Agyemang played a crucial and game-changing role in England's run to winning the Euros.
She came off the bench to score vital last-gasp goals in both the knockout stage games.
Agyemang's stunning interventions led to her being named the tournament's top young talent.
Afterwards, she was awarded the prestigious Golden Girl honour for the top young European talent.
She was also in contention for the Kopa Trophy for the planet's top young female footballer.
Agyemang, who has been playing for Brighton on loan from Arsenal, ruptured her anterior cruciate ligament in October.
"Being nominated for Young Sports Personality of the Year is incredible," said Agyemang. "I thank God and I'm grateful for the support I've received from my inner circle and supporters."
The Darts Prodigy

Littler kicked off the year in sensational style as - aged 17 - he became the most youthful world title winner in history.
He secured a dominant victory over Michael van Gerwen in the final.
His later win at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth competitor to complete the prestigious three major tournament wins.
And he wasn't finished there - his triumph in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he reached world number one for the first time.
At 18, he is the earliest achiever to do so, breaking the previous record.
"Being nominated for Young Sports Personality of the Year is a huge privilege," stated Littler. "Winning last year was a special memory for me and I've had another unbelievable 12 months. I want to continue elevating darts."
The Cricket Sensation

Perrin is one of English cricket's brightest emerging stars and burst into the spotlight with an extraordinary and record-breaking innings in August.
Her sublime 42-ball century in The Hundred is the fastest by an English woman in T20s.
It also stands as the equal third-quickest women's T20 century in a major league or full member T20 international.
Perrin ended up as runner-up in the season's run tally and was named the young player of the year by the PCA.
"I'm truly honoured to be named a finalist for the young athlete award," expressed Perrin. "It means a great deal. I hope it encourages more young females to get into cricket."
