Soccer Analyst Chris Sutton Takes On Artist Murs in Top Flight Predictions
Arsenal's ten-match winning run was ended by the Black Cats before the international break, however can the Premier League frontrunners bounce back against local foes Spurs this weekend?
"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," remarked football specialist Chris Sutton.
"The Spurs manager will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this season - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still manage to win."
The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, versus AI, readers and a range of special visitors.
In week 12, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.
The singer's latest record, the new release, is out on Friday.
Soccer and Family Experiences
Olly is a talented soccer player as well as a accomplished singer and has been a star of multiple charity football matches over time - but he is not intending a professional return as a footballer.
"{I recently played in a benefit match the other evening for a friend of mine," he explained. "The side was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the second half, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!
"I still love football, but I injured my knee a few years ago and it still hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it seriously again.
"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the time that my daughter or son decides to play instead."
The singer and his wife Amelia Tank have two children, Madison and Albert, and he is ready to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their coach.
"I will not force football on our kids but I've already told my wife that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be managing their Saturday soccer team," he added.
"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I clearly owned a football club for a while too.
"My dad coached with us when I was a child, which is likely where I inherited it. He coached our side for two or three seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"
Premier League Predictions
Saturday, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
The Blues might have to be patient for Cole Palmer's return from fitness issues but their attack is already stronger with Pedro and Delap both back fit.
I still think this game will be quite tight, however. The Clarets are disciplined and their only home defeats so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.
It suggests a 1-1 tie to me, but I am in fact going to choose Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third league win in a row.
The expert's forecast: 1-2
Olly's prediction: The Blues will be superior. 1-3
AI's outlook: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Cherries have been defeated in their previous couple matches - albeit both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Villa last time out which surprised me.
On the other hand, West Ham won two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they do look strong again.
The Hammers' only on the road win this season came at Forest in August, when West Ham manager Nuno Espirito Santo was still Forest coach.
So, what exactly do I predict here - will it be the Hammers continuing their run under Nuno, or the home side responding?
I will choose the Cherries, because I believe what occurred against Aston Villa was a anomaly.
The pundit's forecast: 2-0
Olly's prediction: Bournemouth are performing strongly but the visitors have improved under their boss. 2-2
AI's pick: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Bees were seen as one of the frontrunners for the drop before the campaign began, but they have surprised a several observers under their manager and are in fine fettle with three wins in their past four games.
A family member advised me to get Brentford forward Thiago in my fantasy soccer team a few weeks back and, guess what, I didn't listen.
The forward will likely score again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to select him or back Brentford at Amex Stadium.
The Bees have not had much fortune on the road this season, and Brighton are always decent at their stadium. Brentford will try to attack on the counter-attack but I think Fabian Hurzeler's team carry much more of a threat.
Sutton's forecast: 2-1
The singer's view: This could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a lot of scores but it actually turns out to be quite tight. 1-1
AI's prediction: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
This is a massive game for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six games.
Fulham have have plenty of quality in their team but it nonetheless feels like they could be dragged into a relegation fight.
As for Sunderland, well they are the surprise package of the top flight campaign so far.
The away side's performance in the two-all tie with Arsenal last time out was superb. We have not witnessed any other team disrupt the Gunners like that this season, and Sunderland were more than a match for them.
The logical choice to do to support the Black Cats here, because they are clearly capable of disrupting the hosts up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they defeated the Blues at the close of last month.
However I am not going to choose that. Instead, I really need to continue opposing the away team with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their positive outcomes because they clearly enjoy to prove me wrong.
Looking at the home side's at Craven Cottage form, the only team they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Their manager's side will be absolutely eager for a positive result, so I am going to say they will pick up three much-needed points.
The expert's forecast: 1-0
Olly's choice: I know the visitors are performing strongly and also that the hosts are on a bad streak... but Fulham have still been decent at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0
The algorithm's outlook: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
This is a tough fixture to call. Liverpool have suffered seven of their last ten games in every tournament, but might they be one of the sides who benefit from the {international break|
