19 of the Russian's 21 titles have been won on hardcourt

A revitalized Medvedev claimed his first trophy for over two years with victory over opponent Moutet in the competition title decider.

Medvedev, a former top-ranked player, has endured a difficult period, winning just a single victory at the big events and suffering a difficult moment at the US Open.

The player's unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his serving in specific - resulted in him exiting of the elite rankings and eventually parting ways with former coach his previous coach.

Now collaborating with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, he has gradually advanced in the past month - culminating in a tightly fought three-set triumph over opponent Corentin Moutet.

It is his initial trophy after the Italian tournament and maiden on a hardcourt from that period of 2023.

Success also indicates Medvedev has secured twenty-one championships at 21 different events.

"For the first time I'm at a event with my children together, so to secure a championship is especially meaningful," stated world number 14 the champion.

"This championship is in tribute of my second daughter Victoria, because the initial championship I got when my child her name was delivered was for her."

The athlete, the former major winner, had failed in his past six title deciders, including in the German tournament earlier this year.

His retrieving approach and regular reactions on the tennis court had prompted observers to wonder if his ability to perform at the elite level was concluded.

But the player has made changes in recent weeks, making an effort to approach the net and perform positively, backed up by an better serve.

He came back from a disadvantage in the initial set against the difficult opponent, securing four of the final five games to gain the advantage.

The pair traded break points in the following set before Moutet, attempting for his first ATP Tour victory, took control to force a third set.

Moutet saved four initial break points in a tight third set before the champion broke to fifteen to secure the win.

Appropriately, the winner clinched the title with a rally at the front of the court, with Moutet unable to control a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
