The British heavyweight doubled down on his much-discussed remarks about being prepared to “kill” Jake Paul during a media gathering in Florida on Wednesday.

The remarks were originally stated on Tuesday when the boxer was questioned if he would show restraint against Paul, responding that “if I can kill you, I'll kill”.

Saturday's fight against the internet personality turned fighter has drawn concern over the risk involved and the size difference between the two competitors.

Tyson Fury Calls AJ a “Classless Loser”

Former titleholder Tyson Fury labeled Anthony Joshua a “classless loser” for his inflammatory language.

But Joshua, defended his position: “This is what I do, we fight. We have a licence to kill.

“I'm sure many people don't comprehend it but this is what my job is. I just enjoy what I do. The outcome, happens - provided that my hand is held high, that's what's important, with all due respect.”

He stated, “That's just the mindset we have to have as warriors. I don't know if other boxers think that way. Maybe they're a bit more conservative. The way my mind works. When you're in the ring, it's a risky thing. Anything can happen.”

“You wish your adversary exits the ring in good health, but if they don't, you still have to go to bed knowing you just did your job. It was purely professional.”

Jake Paul's Incendiary Response

Jake Paul, a massive underdog in the heavyweight contest as a natural cruiserweight, was equally fiery in his reply.

“This is a contemporary gladiator sport,” Paul said. “I'm prepared. I want his hardest punches. I want there to be zero excuses when it's all said and done. Let's kill each other.”

AJ will face his opponent, 28, at Miami's arena in a fight many regard as a glaring mismatch, with some suggesting it should have been approved as an exhibition bout.

The surreal nature of this bout has led to rumors about its legitimacy, including claims that he may be restricted from knocking Paul out.

“There are no clauses in the contract, Joshua can attest to it. We're going to battle,” Paul insisted.

The former champion, sporting a valuable chain, humorously added, “The only thing in the contract that got my attention was the purse.”

He has stated on his platforms that the total purse will be extremely high.
